PDL Quick List for PDA
There are two ways for PDA users to download the PDL list. If you are an ePocrates® user, you may access Virginia Medicaid’s PDL through the ePocrates® formulary link at www.epocrates.com. ePocrates® is a leading drug information software for handheld computers (PDAs) and desktop computers. A large number of healthcare providers use this software in their daily practice. For more information and product registration, please visit their website. To download the Virginia Medicaid PDL to your PDA via ePocrates®, please follow these steps:On the DMAS website (www.dmas.virginia.gov), there is also a link that enables providers to download the PDL Quicklist to their PDAs. To access this link, please click on "Pharmacy Services", then "Preferred Drug List," then "PDL Quicklist PDA Format." Follow the instructions below to download the PDL to your PDA from the DMAS web site:
Ensure that you have a version of ePocrates Rx® installed on your PDA.
Connect to the Internet and go to www.epocrates.com.
Click the "Add Formularies" link at the top of the page.
Log in to the website using your user name and password.
Select "Virginia" from the "Select State" menu.
Select "Virginia Medicaid-PDL" under "Available Formularies".
Click on "Add to My List" and then click on "Done".
Auto Update your PDA to install the "Virginia Medicaid-PDL" to your PDA.
Right mouse click on "PDL Quicklist PDA Format", from the drop down, select the third item, "Save Target As" and save the file to your local computer.
Click on "All Adobe Readers", and then select the appropriate file for your type of handheld device and/or computer in order to download the necessary software.
Follow Adobe's download instructions.
The "PDL Quicklist PDA Format" file in PDF is now on your computer along with the necessary software to HotSync the file from your computer to your handheld device.
Run the installed Adobe file; use browse to select the PDF file that you saved. HotSync your handheld device with your computer and the file will be there.
