Get the Prescriptions and Equipment You Need

physician holding prescription bottle

When you visit your primary care provider (PCP), you may receive a prescription medication, if necessary. Prescriptions or scripts allow you to get the medicine or medical equipment that has been approved by your doctor.

You can pick up or retrieve your prescriptions at most pharmacies. To find a pharmacy that takes your health plan, call the number on the back of your insurance card.

Your prescription will also include information on when and how to use your medicine. You should continue to follow the instructions even after you start feeling better. Learn more about getting prescriptions filled at local, mail-order and online pharmacies.
