Executive Branch

The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) administers health care services, like Medicaid, for qualifying Virginians. DMAS is a part of the Executive branch of state government. The Governor serves over this branch. The Virginia Governor's Cabinet is a body of the most senior appointed officers of the Executive branch. DMAS is one of twelve agencies overseen by the Secretary of Health and Human Resources.
