Medicaid Advisory Committee

Overview

The Director of the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) has established the Medicaid Advisory Committee (MAC) to provide a structured forum for stakeholder input into the development, implementation, and oversight of Virginia’s Medicaid program. The MAC brings together representatives from across the healthcare system, including providers, advocates, beneficiary advisory council representatives and other key partners, to advise DMAS on policies, operations, and program improvements. This committee builds on longstanding stakeholder engagement efforts to ensure diverse perspectives inform decision-making and support effective program administration. MAC members review and provide feedback on initiatives impacting Medicaid services, access, and quality of care. Members serve defined terms and participate in regularly scheduled meetings, which are open to the public and include opportunities for public comment.
